Sweet Surprise 2019 and Two Days of Siddha Yoga Study and Practice for Young People

Young People (ages 13-30) are warmly invited to participate in Sweet Surprise 2019 and engage in the core Siddha Yoga practices of meditation, chanting, seva, and dakshina to support them in integrating Gurumayi's Message into their lives.

During this event, participants will have an opportunity to reflect, journal, and practice hatha yoga as well as explore and discuss their insight and experience with each other.

Registration required.
Fees: $35 for young people, 13 to 24 years; $100 for adults 25 and older.
Accommodations and meals are separate.

Siddha Yoga Family Retreat: Honor Your Own Self. You are Great.

The Siddha Yoga Family Retreat at the Siddha Yoga Asham in Oakland takes place once a year in July. Many families choose to arrive a day or two early to settle in before the retreat.

Friday, July 19, 2:00 p.m. - Tuesday, July 23, 5:30 p.m.: The Ashram main building and the Amrit Café will be open only for retreat participants, staff, and sevites who are scheduled to offer seva.

Siddha Yoga Celebration Satsang in Honor of Bhagavan Nityananda's Punyatithi

This satsang celebrates the day Bhagavan Nityananda left his physical form and merged with universal Consciousness. In the scriptural tradition of India, it is said that at the time or anniversary of a great being's passing, blessings are bestowed upon those who remember them with love and devotion.

Shaktinilaya Hall will close at 10:45 am for approximately seven minutes while a bhajan is sung. Please be in your seat by 10:40 am.

Meditation is one of the core spiritual practices on the Siddha Yoga path. Meditation brings out the joyful and positive qualities of the mind, and it makes the mind strong. Siddha Yoga meditation also puts you in touch with the very core of who you are.

This special event will be led by a Siddha Yoga meditation teacher who will guide you in exploring the practice of Siddha Yoga meditation. In this event, especially designed for those new to meditation, you will be guided through each aspect of Siddha Yoga meditation, including posture, breath, and mantra.

Whether you are learning about meditation for the first time or you have an existing meditation practice, this introductory event will help you establish or strengthen your regular meditation practice.

No registration is required. Everyone is welcome. Please invite your family and friends. Lunch will be available for purchase afterwards in the Amrit Café.

The Siddha Yoga Shaktipat Intensive is the primary vehicle through which Gurumayi Chidvilasananda bestows shaktipat-diksha, the initiation through which a Siddha Guru awakens the spiritual energy within a human being.

In India, the full moon of the month of Ashada (July-August) is honored as the most auspicious and important of the entire year. This moon's luminous brilliance and perfect form are seen as expressions of the Guru's gift of grace and the attainment of Self-realization. Siddha Yogis focus on the practice of dakshina during this holiday.
