Every year in the month of May, we honor Baba Muktananda with the Siddha Yoga Audio Satsang in Celebration of Baba Muktananda’s Birthday. The title for this year’s Siddha Yoga Audio Satsang in Celebration of Baba Muktananda’s Birthday is Understand Your Own Self.

In this satsang, you will listen to a talk by Baba, reflect on Baba’s profound and timeless teachings, chant the divine name, and meditate.

The satsang is approximately 2 3/4 hour in length.

Gurupurnima is celebrated at the time of the full moon of the month of Ashada (July-August), which is honored as the most auspicious and important full moon of the entire year. Abhishek on Gurupurnima

In India, the full moon of the month of Ashada (July-August) is honored as the most auspicious and important of the entire year. This moon's luminous brilliance and perfect form are seen as expressions of the Guru's gift of grace and the attainment of Self-realization.

You are invited to join us at the Ashram for an abhishek, the ritual bathing offered as worship (puja) to the statue of Bhagavan Nityananda in the Bhagavan Nityananda Temple.

Please arrive by 6:55 a.m. The Ashram will be closed to entry once the abhishek starts.

Young people ages 18 to 35 are invited to gather around a fire to connect, share stories of the Siddha Yoga path, chant, and meditate.

Participants will build a fire together. Complimentary pizza and drinks will be served.

This event will take place outdoors in Shambho Meadow. Please dress warmly. Seating will be available on chairs or on the ground. In case of rain, the gathering will be moved indoors to Shambho Hall.

Siddha Yoga Audio Satsang in Celebration of Baba Muktananda's Birthday 2026

Every year in the month of May, we honor Baba Muktananda with the Siddha Yoga Audio Satsang in Celebration of Baba Muktananda’s Birthday. The title for this year’s Siddha Yoga Audio Satsang in Celebration of Baba Muktananda’s Birthday is Understand Your Own Self.

In this satsang, you will listen to a talk by Baba, reflect on Baba’s profound and timeless teachings, chant the divine name, and meditate.

The satsang is approximately 2 3/4 hour in length.

Lunch will be available for purchase in the Amrit Cafe after the Audio Satsang.

Baba Muktananda’s birthday is a joyous occasion to experience the bliss and freedom inherent in the teachings and practices Baba imparted to seekers all over the world.

You are invited to join us at the Ashram for an abhishek, the ritual bathing offered as worship (puja) to the statue of Bhagavan Nityananda in the Bhagavan Nityananda Temple.

Please arrive by 6:55 a.m. The Ashram will be closed to entry once the abhishek starts.

In this satsang, we will recite Shri Guru Gita. Please bring The Nectar of Chanting or Shri Guru Gita (pocket edition) to this satsang if you have one.

A Welcome Orientation for those new to the Siddha Yoga path will take place at 8:30 a.m. in the lobby Welcome Center. The orientation includes a brief introduction to the Siddha Yoga path and to the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Oakland.

A Special brunch will be available for purchase in the Amrit Café after the satsang.

Siddha Yoga Gathering Around a Fire for Young People (ages 18-35)

Young people ages 18 to 35 are invited to gather around a fire to connect, share stories of the Siddha Yoga path, chant, and meditate.

Participants will build a fire together. Complimentary pizza and drinks will be served.

This event will take place outdoors in Shambho Meadow. Please dress warmly. Seating will be available on chairs or on the ground. In case of rain, the gathering will be moved indoors to Shambho Hall.

You are enthusiastically encouraged to invite your friends and other young people who might be interested in coming to this event.

Parents/ guardians of minors (ages 13 - 17) must accompany their teens. They are invited to participate in a sadhana circle in Shaktinilaya Hall during the gathering for young people.

Everyone is welcome to attend this full-day event, where we will focus on Gurumayi's Message for 2026.

This event is for people of all ages. 

Elements of the day include

  • Recitation of Shri Guru Gita, followed by breakfast

  • Reflection and journaling on Gurumayi’s teachings 

  • Hatha yoga stretches

  • Siddha Yoga Sadhana Circles 

  • Seva projects

  • Chanting and meditation

  • your meditation cushion or asana
